Shops We Love: Discover Global-inspired Finds at Montreal’s Coeur d’Artichaut
Nestled in the café-and-boutique laden district of Laurier Est, along Montreal’s Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, Coeur d’Artcihaut offers curated objects for the spirited dweller. Owner Elisheva San Nicolas had a particular vision for the 1,100-square-foot shop that feels more like a flea market than a traditional retail space. “I was seeking to create a unique kind of shopping experience,” she says. “Born into a family of photographers, I was constantly exposed to life through the view of a lens — it was important for me to have a vision.”
While the shop pulls from the neighborhood’s European-style charm, Elisheva’s time spent living in different countries around the world (including her hometown of Mexico City) inspired Coeur d’Artichaut’s globally-minded collections. “I recall strolling with my parents through city streets filled with small shops and imagining myself, one day, as an owner of one,” she says.
